Reef Stakes® took a weekend road trip north to participate in the TTGDMY x Tiny House @ The Other Fest 2019. The Other Fest is a celebration of the living art, culture and heritage of Ipoh Old Town organized by Kakiseni, TableTop Game Designers of Malaysia and Tiny House Board Game Cafe to spread the love of board games.

During the 2-day exhibition, Reef Stakes® was greeted by visitors who were keen into learning about coral reefs and pressing issues. We were also thrilled by two very young visitors who were keen to learn how to play the game and shared us their recent experience at the beach. This engagement showed us that Reef Stakes® can be understood by kids below the age of 12. We’re now very excited to explore how we could use the game in primary schools!

Our two biggest take-aways from the trip were:
(i) A play deck at Tiny House Table Top – the first board game cafe in Ipoh! (Please go visit when you have time to spare in Ipoh!); and
(ii) our Reef Stakes® community has expanded with James from Ipoh who has attended our Reef Stakes Masterclass during KLEFF 2019. He is currently our only facilitator in Ipoh!
