Reef Stakes® team member is now an ASEAN Youth Eco Champion!
Reef Stakes® is extremely honoured that one of our co-founders – Edmund Lau Chai Ming – has been recognized as an ASEAN Youth Eco-Champion. This award was presented at the 1st ASEAN Youth Eco Champion Awards (AYECA). This inaugural award is an ASEAN initiative to recognise proactive youths who have made outstanding contributions towards protecting of the environment.
The award ceremony was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia on the 8th of October 2019 in conjunction with the ASEAN Environment Day 2019 celebration, on the side of the 15th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting of the Environment. Also present was YB Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis, Deputy Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change (MESTECC).
There were a total of 19 recipients from the 10 ASEAN member states including youths from BruWild, Seastainable.co and Our Singapore Reefs.
Edmund has attributed his success to Reef Stakes® and his active involvement in marine conservation for many years.
